Food

Hello and welcome back to Beginner's guide to the headbob.

We just just got back from Belgium, our homeland, and in that spirit, I thought it would be a good idea to give you a helpful tip. Whether you are going back to your country after a stay in India or whether you are reading this before even coming here, remember one thing. You will absolutely want to stock up on goodies. Food, utensils, whatever you want with you at all times and you aren't sure of getting in India, take it with you. Of course there aren't that many things you'd want to take with you, so in this case me and my family have mainly taken food. Suitcases full of it. I kid you not, it can be "Monster" or "Warheads", "Reese's" or even a specific type of cookies, just remember that India does not import that much "Mainstream" stuff.

You will, at one point or another, miss your country's food and/or product, so make sure to stock up on as much as you possibly can.

Happy new year and see you next time.

Schools of B-Lore

Hello once again,

This post will touch upon a major concern for teenagers moving to a new place: schools.
Now the schools I'll talk about are only international schools in Bangalore, as I live here and haven't gone to any other kinds of schools.

There are three main ones I will write about, since they're the three main ones of which I know.

Indus International School: large student body, great campus, and a lot of opportunities for after school activities. However the student body and staff are mainly Indian, and they are not especially inclined to make any special efforts to make new students welcome. This comes from personal experience.

Canadian International School: large student body, made up of a variety of nationalities, with a good campus and from what I can tell, is very active in competitive sports. Offers the IB diploma and has a large amount of participation in sporting events.

Lastly, Stonehill International School: my current school, with a relatively small student body, it still offers the IB diploma, however it is a developing school, with obvious room for improvement. Even so, the teachers and students come from many different countries, and many have experience in moving from one country to another. This makes it an easy to adapt to environment.

The schools I mentioned are all quite good, however feel free to look them up and figure out which school is best suited to you. Don't take my word for it.

Happy new year, and see you soon.

WELCOME!

Hello and welcome to BGTTH, short for "Beginner's guide to the Headbob".

This Blog will be for those of you who have either moved to India, will move to India, or just want to know more about it. The people in charge of this Blog and its contents are me and my brother, and we have been living in India for the past 4 and half years. We have decided to create this site to share our experiences from these past years, but mainly to give people an idea of what to expect and how to react to India when you're a teenager. Adults are welcome too.

As time goes on, this site might be taken over by different people, but for now, you're stuck with us.

Lastly, there are a few major subjects we will touch upon and give you info on as time passes:

Schools (Mostly ours, but we'll try to give you others)
Shopping and food
Amusement and Entertainment
Tips and Tricks on what to expect of living here, as life is very different here than in the Western World.
